eZmeeting has a superb way of connecting and collaborating using peer-to-peer technology. (Peer-to-peer means that instead of going through a central server, clients connect directly to each other. The information is not “published” to a server and then downloaded by meeting members, instead the information is hosted directly from the meeting host.) With eZmeeting, only the files in the current meeting are being shared. Everyone sees the same thing at the same time during an eZmeeting. All meeting members can redline and markup the file interactively, and contribute files to the meeting, however only the host can save the meeting.
In addition, the eZmeeting service comes with an instant messaging service called eZmessenger and a desktop sharing application called eZdesktop.
