1. Markup Tips

Getting Control - Drawing Straight Lines and Perfect Squares & Circles

Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard while drawing a line or arrow to restrict the line to a 45 degree angle. This makes it easy to draw perfectly horizontal, vertical or angled lines and arrows.

Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard when drawing a rectangle to create a perfect square, or when drawing an ellipse to create a perfect circle.

Right-click when You're Finished

Use your right mouse button when you're finished with your markup to send it to other meeting members. Right-click after entering a text note, when you're ready to place an arrowhead, or when you've finished sketching.

Get Advanced - Turn on Advanced Toolbars

Turn on Advanced toolbars by selecting "Advanced Toolbars" from the Tools > Options menu. You'll then have convenient access to more viewing and markup tools. To hide the advanced toolbars, select the menu option again.

Drawing an Arrow

The Arrow tool can draw an arrow with segments. Click the mouse to create a segment. To place the arrow head right-click the mouse.

Edit Text

To edit mark up text select the Edit Object tool then click on the text. Here you can change the font, color, size, angle and background color.

Delete Objects

To Delete a mark up object, choose the Select Object tool and click on the object and then choose Delete Object.

Highlight Sketch

Overlap the Sketch Pencil and the Highlighter strokes for really creative effects. These tools are great for illustrating your ideas.

Clear Mark up

To clear all mark ups from the current conference document go to Edit/Clear on the Main Menu.

Selecting Multiples

Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and choose the Select Object tool to select multiple objects. Selected objects have a magenta outline.

2. Viewing Tips

Be Dynamic - Use the Middle Mouse Button to Zoom

A quick and easy way to zoom in or out dynamically without changing the tool you're using is to hold down your middle mouse button. Then move the cursor up to zoom in, and down to zoom out. This dynamic zoom tool may also be selected from the Advanced Toolbars.

Clear Things Up with 1:1

Use the 1:1 button on your toolbar to reset raster images like digital photos or screen snapshots to their original size. Keep in mind that if you're in a conference with others who have different monitor resolutions, you may need to find a compromize zoom level that everyone can work with.

3. Conferencing Tips

Multiple Conferences

Have multiple conferences going on at once? View them simultaneously by choosing one of the options under Window on the Main Menu.

Password Protect

We recommend that you protect all your eZ conferences with a password. You will be given this option when you Start a Conference.

4. Presentation Tips

Browse Files

To quickly browse your hard drive from eZ, select Browse Files... under File on the Main Menu. Double-click a file to open it in the eZ window.

Insert File

To insert a file into the current presentation select the Insert File option under Presentation on the Main Menu.

To quickly launch eZ, eZshare or eZmessenger, right-click on the eZ tray icon.
